We beat St. Oliver Plunkets in the semi finals and we were delighted to hear that we were on our way to Croke Park once again. When the day finally came we made our way to Croke Park on the bus. It took around 40 minutes to get there. We went and sat down in the Hogan stand and waited for the team to run out onto the pitch. Everyone cheered wildly. The formation was 1 goalie, 3 backs, 2 midfield and 3 forwards.
It was a very close game for most of the first half and there were great chances and some hard tackles from both teams. In the second half St Helen's scored 3 goals in less than 5 minutes and then took control of the game. Eventually the final whistle went and the score was 6-4 to 0-4 for St.Helens. We were thrilled, and went to the platform at the centre of the Hogan Stand to be presented with our medals and the Cup. After the presentation we ran out to the edge of the pitch and celebrated and danced around for joy. some of our parents came over and they were nearly as excited as we were.
Afterwards The Team went to Mc Donalds. When they arrived back at the school they were sent to Mr Lowe's office. He told us that person of the match was Catriona Power. The rest of the school were sent to the school hall and the team came in with their medals and the Cup!! The school clapped and cheered. A couple of days later the team went down to the Junior school and they showed the younger children the cup.
